Scientific Cooling™
RJG is excited to offer Burger & Brown Engineering's Scientific CoolingTM course! This comprehensive two-day class is for designers, mold builders, tooling engineers, and mold technicians who want to better understand and control the effects of mold cooling resulting in more robust mold designs, mold builds, and molding processes.

Participants will learn the tools necessary to analyze heat energy and the mold cooling management required to produce consistent, profitable parts. Participants will learn to systematically challenge the design of new molds and uncover issues with existing molds through a development of best practices for mold cooling management.

After successful class completion with a minimum test score of 70%, you will earn a scientific cooling certificate, and you'll have the tools to implement scientific cooling principles in your molding process. For details or to register, click here.

Product Spotlight: Multi Channel Strain Gage System
Easily interface to multiple strain gage sensors with this low profile, robust hardware system that simplifies in-mold installations for molds with four or more sensors and saves real estate on the mold. The multichannel cavity pressure system, unique to RJG, allows injection molders to connect up to eight strain-gage sensors to one connection point on the mold. Injection molders who want to reduce the footprint of hardware on their molds and/or save costs over other multi-cavity sensor solutions in the industry can now use RJG’s Multichannel Strain Gage system. Our Systematic Molding class is an introductory course for anyone who wants to develop a systematic approach to molding at their facility FROM THE PLASTIC'S POINT OF VIEW (as opposed to the traditional machine's point of view). Students leave this course with a better understanding of how to develop a machine-independent process, how to make data driven improvements to existing processes, as well as how to effectively troubleshoot using scientific and systematic approaches. Students will also understand the cause and effect relationships between the machine, process, mold, and material, as well as how and why polymer behavior is influenced. Do you work at a multi-facility company that has either already started working with RJG or you would like them to? If so and your company holds periodic best practice meetings, we encourage managers to contact us to see if RJG could have a representative attend. Grant Money is Available for Texas Manufacturers!
We have learned that the state of Texas has set aside $500,000 per manufacturer for skills development training in 2015. For injection molders these funds can be used for RJG training up to the most advanced levels. To inquire ask your HR Manager to contact your local community or technical college for details.

Are Your eDARTs™ Running the Latest Version?
Version 10 eDART users can now download version 10.6.8.2 from our website. Improvements include support for the new multi channel strain gage system as well as a new safety feature which will help prevent accidental restart or shutdown of the eDART. There is also now support for the Peak Ejector Force Optional Tool and for the dual analog flow/temperature IA2-M-FT.

Version 9 users can download Version 9.4. Some improvements include a user-initiated cross copy for defaults and security files, added support for Lynx protocol 3 and multi-channel strain gage devices, a peak mold open temperature measurement, and the math processing optional tool now allows the integration of digital signals.

Coming soon! Versions 10.6.9 and 9.4.1. Check our website for updates.

New Additions to the RJG Team
Mike Godart
TZER0 Tooling Engineer
Mike comes to RJG with more than 20 years in the industry. This experience includes mold design/building, project management, leadership/management roles, purchasing processing equipment, quality control and launching new molds into production. Mike has developed an expertise in design for manufacturing, linking engineering to manufacturing. He will be responsible for using injection molding and tooling knowledge, RJG equipment and software, experience in tool and part design as well as CAD and mold flow simulation, to develop a plan that takes the customer from concept to finished part with the least number of tryouts. Welcome, Mike!
Jim Chan
System Architect & Chief Engineer
Jim is the recent addition to RJG's busy engineering department. Jim has extensive experience in IT solution architecture and software development in different industries. His previous work included consultancy and working as a Systems Architect for large companies including The Walt Disney Company. Jim will lead and manage the technical aspects of our development team as well as aid in the development of RJG's cutting edge software. Welcome, Jim!
Margaret Weinzapfel
Document Control Coordinator
Margaret joins the team responsible for preparing, editing, and maintaining all written, graphic, and video content for our courses in RJG's Learning Content Management System. She has her Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Dual Bachelor Degrees in Spanish and International Business. Her linguistic, educational, and technical background will be a huge asset to the training department. Welcome, Margaret!
